1992 CONTINENTAL 3.8 V6
Generally, the firing order is stamped on the intake manifold...it was on an old Mercury Marquis I had with the 3.8. I had the same problem.

1998 Continental Air Suspension Question
I am not sure if it is worth getting a lawyer for $500, but sometimes the principle is worth the cost... I would show them the owner's manual that indicates that the air system should be turned off to prevent damage, ANYTIME the car is lifted...if they admit they did not turn the switch off, I see t...

1998 Continental Air Suspension Question
My 98 Continental only has rear air suspension, which I really prefer...lots less to go wrong. At 88,000 miles, I noted that the very bottom of the air bags are beginning to show aging cracks....I am wondering if I should just replace them before I have a major problem. I don't know about how long t...

Driver Door Ajar
I had the same problem with my 98 Continental. Before I saw the post that said not to use WD40, I spritzed all of the door latches. May have dust collection problems later, but at least for now everything is a-ok. I used a phillips screwdriver to trip the door latch so that it would as as if the doo...

1998 Lincoln Continental spark plugs?
HA HA....orry, but I have to laugh. I went thru the same thing when I wanted to change the plugs on my 98 Conti. I was fortunate enough to find a shop manual on EBAY and bought it.... If you look at either engine head, there is a long black narrow metal cover that screws to the top of each valve cov...

95 Lincoln Continental interior lights.
I can't believe that the dealer could not diagnose the problem....I have a 98 Continental with the same problem, and it was, in fact, the door sensors in the latches. I used WD 40 and the problem seems to have gone away, at least for now. I sure hope the dealer did not charge you anything, or I hope...

85 TC Smoking Engine
I just bought a beautiful 1985 White Town Car with nice white leather and a blue carriage top. The car runs and rides great, but with 132,000 miles on it, there is a lot of smoke that comes out of the oil filler cap if it is removed. Short of an overhaul, is there anything that can minimize this con...

91 Towncar Wont Start
Another thing to check is the started solenoid...I don't remember if the 90 TC has the remote solenoid bolted to the fender or not....as I recall (I owned one) it had the 302 and the AOD trans, whcih puts the solenoid on the fender just behind the battery. The battery positive cable goes to it an th...

Where's the Fuel Pump?
Hi Bigjon Your fuel pump os inside the fuel tank....same way on almost all newer fuel injected vehicles, I don't know if you have to drop the tank on your model or not,,, I had to on my 88 Towncar Sorry for the bad news [img...

Noisy Clock - driving me nuts
My 1998 Continental has an analog clock in the dash which I really like...however, every minute on the minute it jumps to the next minute and make a sound like a relay is clicking....it seems to be getting louder. Has anyone else had this happen, and what do I do??? I can just imagine the amount of ...

Just bought 1998 Continental
I just purchased a 1998 Lincoln Continental. I probably should have asked this first, but does anyone know of any weak areas in these cars?? It has most of the options, like heated seats and moon roof, and everything seems to work well. I got a pretty good price on the car, but it does have 80,000 h...

Transmission Shifting Problems
The right side sagged a little...when I jacked up the front of the car to change the ATF and filter, I noticed that the right rear was way low. I changed the rear springs and that solved that problem. I noticed that the right front is sagging and it handles a bit strange since changing the rear spri...

Transmission Shifting Problems
Hey MARKIII I think I finally got it...I played with the TV cable for 2 hours, adjusting and readjusting....FINALLY, I got it at the proper position where it shifts pretty soft and not too early.... The manual says to adjust it at a point where it is aligned with the throttle lever, and I had adjust...
