1960 mark v limousine

Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

1960 mark v limousine

Post by Milsteads Garage »

This is a 60 Mark V Limousine I came across during my travels last month. I have known about this car being for sale for quite sometime so during a trip to Florida I stopped into Georgia to look at it. To me, the car is pretty epic. 34 were produced and this has a real low serial number with 400031 which I believe it means #31built. The car is very rough and has quite a bit of rust. It probably will not run or roll without a lot of effort into it though it is remarkably complete. I was trying to research where this thing came from and on an off chance Elvis' 60 Limousine #400032 was directly behind this one as it left the factory. These are based on the Mark V pillared sedan 54A oddly enough. The owner told me it was originally purchased by the governor of Georgia or Kentucky but really doesn't know. The only information I have gotten on this car was from a book called "the cars of Lincoln-Mercury by Geo.H. Damman/James K Wagner" and what little tidbit I found on the internet about Elvis' limo. I have been extremely indecisive if I am going to pick this car up or not. I bought a hood that will fit it in hopes I do buy this car but I feel it maybe too far gone to be anything other than an epic conversation piece and I have had too many of those during my lifetime. Anyone have records to Hess and Eisenhardt or anymore information to these limo's than I do?

Same seller from Atlanta has several 49 Lincoln parts for sale.

I a;ways run into many 58-60 Continental Sedans and Conv.'s for sale in
Atlanta area.
